Description
The Brown’s arrival in Denver in 1894 converges with local and worldwide events that changed the way people interacted with the world. Margaret “Molly” Brown's travels to events like the 1893 World’s Fair in Chicago helped to usher this global curiosity into Denver. The Under the Lens Series, in conjunction with The World is Changing Exhibit at the Molly Brown House Museum, playfully explores these world-changing topics across four evenings.
Our last program of the Under the Lens Series is on August 22 and will look into how representation manifests at the 1893 World’s Fair. Between the exhibits, attendees, and organizers there was a lot to be said about who had a seat at the table at this event. In this program at the historic home of Margaret "Molly" Brown, we will explore how race and gender presented itself at the 1893 World’s Fair from the organization of the fair to the exhibits presented.
Each Under the Lens event invites guests to experience this detailed look into aspects of the World’s Fair with snacks provided and a beverage with your ticket; adult beverages are available to those 21+.
This event is hosted at the Molly Brown House Museum at 1340 Pennsylvania Street.
